TEA FESTIVAL
Free Lecture Schedule
SATURDAY, March 8, 2025
Time 1:00pm
Jeju Island’s Wild Secret: How Regenerative Farming Brews the Perfect Cup for People and Planet by Michael D. Ham
(When you pick up a box of tea, do you know where it came from or how it was grown? Join Michael D. Ham, co-founder of Wild Orchard Tea Company, on a journey to Jeju Island, South Korea—a 1,000-acre regenerative organic tea farm that’s setting a new standard for sustainability and wellness. This presentation will reveal the vital connection between the way tea is cultivated and its impact on both personal health and the planet. Learn how regenerative farming practices, which restore soil health, foster biodiversity, and sequester carbon, result in teas that are not only rich in nutrients but also play a role in combating climate change.Michael will share stories from the farm, where wild animals, bees, and volcanic soil create an ecosystem that nurtures every tea leaf. Discover why regenerative organic certification is more than a label—it’s a commitment to protecting ancient traditions, supporting farmers, and brewing a perfect cup of tea that heals both body and earth.)
